Katherine Andrews is a Canadian screenwriter originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who's been a tree planter, done agricultural field work, was managing editor of her university's student newspaper and worked as an assistant in a Prime Minister's archives.

In 2021, she was selected for the New York-based Writer’s Lab, sponsored by Meryl Streep for her feature film script LIL, which she co-wrote with Virginia Abramovich.

In 2022, LIL placed in a number of screenwriting competitions (Bronze in Page International-SciFi, Top 10 in Final Draft’s Big Break-SciFi and Semi-Finalist in Screencraft-SciFi).

Her dramatic sci-fi feature film BETWEEN WAVES (2020), also co-written with director Virginia Abramovich, has screened at more than a dozen festivals worldwide. The film won Best Feature at both the Boston Sci-Fi and the Berlin Sci-Fi Film Festivals.

Katherine wrote the MOW thriller screenplay MISSING AND ALONE (2021) which aired on Lifetime Network and was produced by Neshama/MarVista Entertainment.

Previously, she was a writer and story editor on season two of the Canadian Comedy Award-winning web series JUST PASSING THROUGH. She also contributed as a writer on two children’s animation programs: ROBOTIK and BOB! THE SLOB.

In addition to graduating from writing programs at UCLA and The Second City, Katherine has a Master of Arts degree in Journalism. She wrote, produced, hosted and directed news and current affairs programs on CBC Radio & TV in four provinces over the course of seven years.

From 2019-2022, Katherine lived in Copenhagen Denmark with her husband and two sons where she fully embraced Scandinavian hygge by cycling daily, going for year-round dips in the North Sea, and singing in a choir of international women. She currently lives in Toronto.
